In 2010, Alpha Epsilon Pi was revived and established a new colony at IU. Our coach, Lyle Feigenbaum, pulled our bike team out of the ground after failing to qualify in the race our first year back on campus. He has established a foundation for excellence in our intense training program, and we need all the help we can get.
In 2012, we raced with a team of all rookies. We qualified 19th and placed 17th with the setbacks of three crashes. We are in a period of growth and we have come a long way since last year. Our team this year will consist of two veterans, one of which will be graduating this year, and two rookies. After ending last year's race with only two returning riders, it is incredible that the team has grown to nine fully committed riders, four of which are freshmen with immense potential.
When we got our house back in 2011, our bike room had absolutely no equipment and the team had nothing to train with other than our bikes and the roads. With many of our top competitors having budgets exceeding $10,000, we need all the help we can get in order to acquire training equipment, race parts, and nutrition that will maximize our ability to keep up with our vigorous training schedule.
The Bike Team relies heavily on support from alumni and parents. Every dollar helps us with the fees to participate in the Little 500, the extra parts for the bikes, the training equipment, and the cost to enhance the bike room. We greatly appreciate your donations, which is why we want to show thanks by listing your name under one of the tiers below.
